I have made three beautiful small flowers which will be pinned on my board for my first textile piece, ‘Flowers’. I have the wee transparent pins all lined up and ready to go, but I have an issue already. Alongside the ‘successes’ I have one that had to be torn off my needles in frustration. I can’t bring myself to throw him (it… I know realistically it’s an it but I often anthropomorphise… ask my boss about my relationship with Miffy!) in the bin so I am assessing where these failures can fit into the project. I will pop him in my Moomin lunch box for now.
My Haiku project, #1in50 Haikus, responding to lyrics I feel close to, is going well. I find safety and meaning in certain songs and I share these daily on Vocal Media but will drop them on here as well as I feel that is more coherent than giving links to other sites. The first one is the David Bowie track The Man Who Sold the World, recorded and released in 1970, about a month after I appeared on this earth! I try to create the haikus around the meaning and themes of the songs, rather than a ‘word for word’ response.
